Utilizing QR Codes

Overview

QR codes can be used through Manufacton to track and manage orders and materials all the way through process. This guide covers generating and scanning QR codes to streamline mobile management of orders and materials.

Generating QR Codes

QR codes are built into the software and can be generated in several phases of the app as described below.

Detailing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Shipping Phases  

1. Click the 3-dot button next to the order you wish to print a QR code for and click Print QR Code from the subsequent list and follow the prompts.
   
   

The QR Label for a Production Order in Detailing, Manufacturing or QA, or a Material order in the Ordering stage, can be printed directly from within the order.

In Bulk

It is also possible to print QR Labels in bulk in the Production Manager, and Supply Chain Manager’s “Production Status” tab.

To print QR Labels in bulk:

1. Select Bulk Actions
2. Select Print QR Labels
3. Select the Project for which the QRs are to be Printed
4. Optionally check to:
   • Print only the QR Labels for the Order (not their items)
   • Generate a separate PDF for each order – this will generate a zip file with a separate .pdf for each order selected.
5. Press the Select button

An email will be sent to you with a pdf or a zip file attached with all of the QR labels selected.

Via Advanced Analytics

The Advanced Analytics module also exposes the Manufacton Order and Item QR codes in a universal QR code format which can be published to a QR generator and leveraged in other applications and/or on drawing sheets, etc.

Why Multiple QR Codes?

Every time a QR code generation request is processed, a user is given multiple QR codes. The top QR code designates the overall order, and each subsequent QR code designates each item within that order. 

Scanning QR Codes

Scanning QR codes with the web and mobile app will bring users directly to the scanned order to allow for a more streamline approach to managing orders and materials. To scan QR codes printing in drawing sets or attached to orders, see the following steps.

1. Enter login credentials on the Manufacton app home screen.
2. Select the Scan QR Code button or icon
3. Center the QR code beneath the white square until scanned.
